We are bombarded daily by thousands of marketing messages from many different mediums. Most of these messages are there, then gone and never thought of again.
Every so often I see something that I really like or really don’t like. In the past weeks I have seen a few things that made me take notice.
A colleague of mine was at a lunch meeting last week and they served pizza for lunch. She said it was really good and I asked her where it came from. She didn’t know, it came in a blank white box with no company name. How dumb is that?
Why wouldn’t the pizza place put their name on the box? Are they not proud of their product? No, they didn’t want to spend a few extra cents for printing on the box. Does a car dealer ever deliver a car without their name on it? No. Be smart, be proud of your products and services.
Have you seen the YouTube video of NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon taking an unsuspecting car salesman for a test drive? It is one of the funniest videos I’ve seen in a while. It was a Pepsi ad and at the same time it wasn’t an ad for Pepsi. Doesn’t matter what it was, it has over 30,000,000 hits. Good one Pepsi.
Was walking through the mall the other day and I saw a sign outside a Maritime Travel store listing advertised airfare pricing and what you actually end up paying. A flight from Fredericton to Winnipeg was advertised at $373.00 per person, but the actual price you pay with everything in is $703.00. Come on, that is almost double the price. Do airlines think we are a bunch of morons? Thanks to Maritime Travel for being upfront about this.
If you ever have a topic you would like me to address, let me know.
