Do you know the reason customers buy from you? Is it selection? Quality? Customer service? Geographic location? Price?
If you answered price, then you have some work to do! If people are buying based only on price, it often means they have very low customer loyalty and will only buy from you again if you have the lowest price.
Successful businesses are built by developing a loyal base of return customers. How do you create a loyal customer? By making them feel important. If your product is priced the same as your competitors, or even a bit higher, what can you do to ensure that the customer buys from you?
Think about how you like to be treated as a customer. As a customer, you want to feel that the business actually cares about you, and that your purchase is exactly what you need. Therefore, it’s important that you and your employees treat customers like you really care about what they need and have the product knowledge to build their confidence in you. If you don’t know the products or services you are selling inside and out, then put the time in to make sure you do.
Smile. Get to know your customers. Build a relationship with them so they will want to keep coming back. Give them a buying experience that makes the price irrelevant.
