Feast or Famine: You still have to feed the the beast.

These are really interesting times. On one hand, I have clients that don’t want to do any marketing because they are too busy or everything they are making is already sold. On the other hand, I have clients that are desperate because they have nothing going on. Covid-19 sure has turned a lot of things completely upside down.

I know I sound like a financial advisor, but you should stay the course. Hot industries that produce lumber or sell real estate are soaring right now. But you know that this is not going to last forever. The same holds true for businesses on the other end of the scale. Demand for your products and services will pick up again but will customers think of you when they’re ready to buy?

If you are not doing any marketing or advertising you are doing yourself a disservice. Creating some top of mind awareness will go a long way to being thought of when the business climate changes in your sector. It’s not hard to do. This can be done through regular social media posts – both organic and paid, and/or through local radio, who offer some great frequency plans that will push your brand out on an ongoing basis. So, when the time comes, you will be top of mind.

The beast that is marketing needs to be constantly fed no matter how your business is doing. What’s not having much impact now may pay dividends down the road. Change is most likely coming. Keep your marketing efforts up so when customers are ready to buy from your industry, you will be top of mind.
