People get so caught up in their day-to-day tasks that they neglect some of the things that are needed to help grow their business. You can’t sit at your desk and wait for business to come to you. You have to go out and get it.
You can promote your business without really promoting your business. Get more involved in your local business community. Opportunities abound out there for you to be involved. Join a service club like Rotary, join a business group like Women in Business, sit on a local board, or join a committee with the Chamber of Commerce. Get to know more people.
I belong to several of these groups. Just by being involved, I am getting business. One business organization I belong to has over 40 members. We have done work for over half of them. Just by being there!
By creating business networks, we have access to potential business we might not have thought of contacting. Get out from behind your desk and get involved. Every person you do work for has the potential to tell many more people about your company. The more people you meet the better. And, people buy from people they know.
