Do you ever find yourself scrambling to find what you need when a marketing opportunity arises? It is a common problem in most small to medium size businesses – but it doesn’t have to be. You just need to get organized and develop a marketing tool box that puts everything right at your finger tips.
My work bench at home has all my tools on the wall and I know right where they are when I need them. It is easy to do the same thing with your marketing tools using a file on your computer. Here is what you will need in your marketing tool box.
Logo
Have your logo available in all of the popular formats. You should have it in jpeg, eps, gif and pdf.
Messaging
Make sure you have developed your company’s corporate messaging. This allows you to maintain consistency in all of your marketing material.
Templates
You should have a file with templates for print ads, signs, stationery and anything else you use on an ongoing basis. It is important to develop a look and feel and then stick with it.
Online
It is important to keep your website and FaceBook page updated. You should be putting new content on the FaceBook page every week and updating your website every month or two.
Marketing Plan
Develop a plan, keep it close and stick to it.
If you are organized and have all of this material readily available when someone calls looking for it, or if a last minute marketing opportunity pops up, you will be ready. It will make your day-to-day marketing a lot easier.
