The onset of the Covid-19 virus will forever be remembered as unprecedented, catastrophic and very trying times. Whatever you want to call it, it is not the best time to be in business – unless of course you are in the toilet paper or hand sanitizer business.
When this virus scare is over, and it will be over, the hand sanitizer and toilet paper companies will see a drastic decline in their business, much like what most of us are seeing and will see in the next few weeks. However, when life does return to normal and people come out of isolation, business will slowly return to normal and some will see a big jump in business.
Will your business be ready? Will you be in the forefront? This is something to think about – NOW. What are your customers doing right now? Many of them are at home, scrolling through social media with not much else to do. When the time comes for business to resume as usual, will you be top of mind with prospective customers? I hope you haven’t cut back on your advertising or posting – now is the time to ramp up your marketing efforts. I see many businesses already changing the way they’re doing business to keep top of mind and to service their customers. Kudos to them.
What are you doing with your time? Are there marketing projects you have been putting off because you’ve been too busy? Does your marketing plan need to be dusted off? Maybe it needs a redo based on the current events. Does your website need a refresh? What better time to do that than now, when you have the time to focus on these things. Remember, marketing is not an expense, it’s an investment in your business – and an investment you need to make to achieve success.
This crisis will pass. Be prepared for back to business.
Stay safe everyone.
