Now that 2023 has arrived and we’re slowly emerging from our holiday festivities, it’s time to look ahead and get ready for some upcoming trends, and how they may affect your business.
Interactive Content
Changes in privacy regulations and policies are coming into effect and changing the way large social media platforms provide data, and this will affect how many companies will conduct their marketing in 2023. With personal data harder to come by, instead, many businesses will be switching to interactive content to gather their own information using such things as polls, quizzes, games, surveys, image sliders, interactive infographics and much more. Start the year off with a creative spark by engaging your audience on your social media platforms and learning more about them along the way.
The Emergence of AI
ChatGPT and other artificial intelligence neural networks are taking the world by storm, and have made it possible to create, on the fly, language, music, and images. The AI is so sophisticated that it can also create copy for blogs, articles, and emails. The content they create still needs human editing and are best used as a creative springboard, but this opens a world of creative possibilities for companies to access. This will also act as a disruptor in quite a few processes along the way, causing many businesses to pivot, but the cat is out of the bag, and never going back in.
Building a Community
In our current economic climate, it’s critical for businesses to promote the community over products. With so much uncertainly these days, people are streamlining and cutting back on what they purchase. In an unstable world, people instead seek out places they belong, and brands that are forward-thinking will build community first, creating brand loyalty and participation. This can include things like creating forums where people can communicate, promoting user-generated content on your social media feeds, or creating a referral program that rewards customers.
Media Marketing
Beyond connection, people are looking for education, entertainment, or connection, and if you create only ads, people won’t resonate with you. This trend has been developing for a while but will really be in full force in 2023, so businesses need to have a plan in place to focus their marketing, on all platforms, in this direction. This means focusing on providing useful, important content for your audience. The most critical thing about this is, the content must be genuine, important to the user, and not forced.
