Smile For the Camera

We all know the saying, “A picture is worth a thousand words”. If a picture is going to replace a thousand words, it better be good.

Almost everyone now has a high definition camera, right in their pocket. Cell phones have evolved to the point where they can take amazing photos, in the hands of someone who knows about photography, that is.

When you want photos for your marketing material, please take the time and make the investment to do it right. Nothing can be as bad as a poorly done photo on the home page of your website or cover of your brochure. Hire a professional who understands facial expressions, lighting, composition and how the photo will be used so that it’s shot correctly.

The quality of your photography reflects the quality of your business. For instance, if you want to portray yourself as confident and welcoming, don’t get one of your staff members to take your photo. A professional photographer can do that for you. It might take 25 different tries, but they will end up with the money shot.

Photoshop can make a lot of bad photos look good, but if you took the photo correctly, you don’t have to be concerned with that. You hire a professional to work on the brakes of your car or build your house, the photos in your marketing materials are just as important.
